Two laborers were killed during a stabbing incident in Purok Orchids, Brgy. Santol, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental, on Thursday night, Jan. 15.
The victims were identified only as alias “Arnel,” 25, and “Lemping,” 61, while the suspect was identified as alias “Jojo,” 30, of Brgy. Santol.
The Binalbagan police said the incident happened at around 9 p.m. inside the suspect’s house.
The victims and the suspect were drinking with other companions when a heated argument broke out, the police said.
Authorities said the suspect allegedly grabbed a knife and stabbed the younger victim multiple times, causing his death.
The older victim was also stabbed while trying to pacify the suspect and was initially brought to the Ignacio L. Arroyo Sr. Memorial District Hospital in Isabela.
The injured victim was later referred to a hospital in Bacolod City for further treatment but also died.
The police said a hot pursuit operation led to the arrest of the suspect, who is now under police custody.*
