A Department of Education employee was killed after his motorcycle rammed into a parked carabao-drawn cart in Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental, early Sunday morning, Aug. 31.
Police identified the victim as Jude Jett Areglo, 42, of Brgy. Guinpanaan, Moises Padilla.
Investigation showed that Areglo had just come from a public plaza disco and was on his way home at around 3:30 a.m. when he overshot the provincial road at Purok 2, Brgy. Magallon Cadre, and crashed into the steel bar of the cart parked at the roadside.
The cart was owned by Jerry Nacionales, of Moises Padilla.
Areglo sustained injuries to the left side of his chest and face.
He was given first aid by the Moises Padilla Rescue Team and brought to the Moises Padilla Infirmary, but was later declared dead at the Ignacio Lacson Arroyo Sr. Memorial District Hospital in Isabela town.*
