The Department of Agriculture is setting up its regional office for the Negros Island Region at the Sugar Regulatory Administration office at Araneta Street, Singcang, Bacolod City.
Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. “decided on using our office since the SRA and DA work closely together”, SRA Administrator Pablo Luiz Azcona said.
The DA is also eyeing 8 hectares owned by SRA in Barangay Alijis, Bacolod, for the eventual construction of a building for its permanent office, he added.
The SRA owns 18 hectares of land in Barangay Alijis, Azcona said.*
