The Department of Agriculture (DA) will sell rice at P20 per kilo at the Capitol Park and Lagoon in Bacolod City, which will be open to all, starting 8 a.m. on Saturday, September 13.
The special rollout is part of the “Handog ng Pangulo (Gift of the President)” program, a one-day government services caravan, that coincides with the 68th birthday of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
The rice sale will serve 1,500 buyers on a first-come, first-served basis, Negros Island Region DA Director Albert Barrogo said.
Each buyer, who must bring a valid government-issued ID, can purchase up to 10 kilos of rice.
The sale will also be conducted in Negros Oriental and Siquijor.
The DA Negros Island Region will also distribute P150 million worth of agricultural machinery and facilities to farmer cooperative associations in Negros Occidental on Saturday, Barrogo said.*
