
Three alleged drug syndicate in members were among nine suspects arrested in a series of buy-bust operations where P9.22 million worth of suspected shabu and marijuana were seized in Bacolod City and two Negros Occidental cities on Thursday and Friday, Aug. 3 and 4.
The Bacolod police seized 1.3 kilograms of shabu worth P8.8 million, and a .45 caliber pistol from three alleged members of the Caunda drug syndicate at Brgy. Singcang-Airport, around 10:05 p.m. on Thursday, Col. Noel Aliño, Bacolod police director, said.
Arrested were Gycelle Bonagua, 31, of Angeles, City, Pampanga, Micheal Ramos, 43, of Antipolo, Rizal, and their helper Rizald Lapag, 33, of Brgy. 4, Bacolod City.
Bonagua and Ramos were temporarily residing in Brgy. Singcang-Airport.
The Caunda Drug Group is considered the only remaining drug syndicate in left in Bacolod City, Aliño said.
Aliño said he is giving a P50,000 reward to the Police Station 8 cops who seized the P8.8 million in drugs, and is offering a P100,000 reward for information that could lead to the arrest of the Caunda drug group leader.
The Bacolod police also seized 17 grams of suspected shabu worth P 115,600 at Prk Sigay, Brgy. 2, Bacolod City, at 10:51 p.m. on Thursday.
Arrested was Dino Paolo Perez Chavez, 24, of Prk Kagaykay, Brgy. 2, Bacolod City.
Two drug personalities were also arrested by the police at Regent Pearl Subdivision in Barangay Alijis, Bacolod City, early Friday morning.
They were identified as Carolyn Mapa Li, 21, an online seller, and Jelo Canuday Vergel, 19, of Bacolod City.
Seized from them were 25 grams of shabu worth P170,000 and 12 grams of marijuana leaves valued at P81,600, the police reported.
Aliño said that these big drug hauls were the result of their “BCPO Anti-Illegal Drugs” campaign were they coordinated with the members of the community in investigating possible leads on the illegal drug trade.
Meanwhile, June Artaba, 35, and Ronnie Batusin, 32, were also arrested in a buy-bust operation in Brgy. 1, San Carlos City, Thursday.
Seized were 0.40 grams of suspected shabu worth P2,720.
Tryx Kryssbyll Majarucon, 24, of Brgy. Zone-3, Cadiz City, was also arrested Thursday morning.
Recovered was 1.1 gram of suspected shabu valued at P8,000, the police said.*
