
Eight street-level individuals were arrested, including five from Iloilo, in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) early Monday morning, October 20, at Purok Magtiayon, Barangay 10, Bacolod City.
The operation, led by the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) resulted in the confiscation of around 30 grams of suspected shabu valued at P204,000.
Police identified the arrested suspects as alias “Wilmike”, 38, and alias “Charles”, 26, both from Brgy. 2, Bacolod City, and alias Tyrone, 26, of Brgy. 35.
Five identified as residents of Iloilo province were alias “Christian”, 25, alias “Patrick”, 25, alias “Janby”, 23, all from Iloilo City, alias “Gerimar”, 22, of Dumangas, and alias “Christian”, 24, of Sta. Barbara.
The suspects were caught during a buy-bust operation after one of them sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur-buyer.
All arrested individuals are now detained and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Police said the arrest of the five Iloilo-based suspects indicates continued cross-border drug distribution between Western Visayas and Negros Island.*
