
The police arrested three individuals linked to the fatal shooting of a 37-year-old farmer during a drinking session in Brgy. Asia, Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental, on Saturday, Aug. 30.
Maj. Jaynick Bermudez, Hinoba-an police chief, told DIGICAST NEGROS that the suspects were apprehended in a pursuit operation on Sunday.
The victim’s family has decided to file murder charges against them.
The victim, alias “Ronald,” 37, a farmer and resident of Brgy. Asia was shot multiple times and died instantly.
Bermudez said the victim and the suspects were drinking together when an argument broke out, leading to the shooting.
After the incident, the suspects fled but were later arrested by the police.
The three pointed fingers at each other as to who fired the shots, and one of them is expected to stand as witness against the others, Bermudez said.
The police are continuing their investigation with an inquest scheduled on Monday, Sept. 1.*
