The police are looking into the possibility that a gun-for-hire could be the culprit in the killing of an ex-barangay kagawad in Purok Zone 1, Brgy. Handumanan, Bacolod City.
Based on how the victim was killed, they believe that the unidentified suspect is a gun-for-hire, Capt. Sherwin Galupar, Bacolod Police Station 10 acting commander, said on Thursday, Nov. 7.
Henry Saldibia, a resident of Brgy. Blumertritt, Murcia, Negros Occidental, died after he was shot on Nov. 4.
The police said that while the victim was driving his motorcycle, the suspect shot him on the head causing his death.
Saldibia was the caretaker of the Negros Economic Development Foundation, a non-government organization, and had served as a barangay kagawad in Blumentritt.
Galupar said that they already have a person of interest but they are still investigating the motive for the crime.*
