The police arrested two women and seized more than P1 million worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation in Bacolod City.

The Bacolod City Police Office City Drug Enforcement Unit arrested the two at Purok Narra Baybay in Brgy. 8 at about 11:11 a.m. on Friday, May 8.

Arrested were alias “Ning,” 30, identified as a high-value individual on the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council monitoring list, and alias “Nikka,” 20, identified as a street-level individual.

Authorities confiscated around 160 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P1,088,000.

Police Lt. Col. Albert Sy, chief of the City Drug Enforcement Unit, said charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were filed against the suspects on May 9.

Sy said alias “Ning” had previously been imprisoned but was released through a plea bargaining agreement.

He added that alias “Ning” had been under monitoring for about two weeks after her name repeatedly surfaced during the investigation of previously arrested drug suspects.

Authorities said the suspect’s alleged drug distribution operations extended beyond Brgy. 8 and reportedly reached Barangays 6, 8, 10, 12, 2, and 3 in Bacolod City.

Sy also said the police are monitoring and validating the identity of the suspects’ alleged supplier as part of ongoing anti-drug operations.*
