
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) registered 9,624 new voter applicants in the Negros Island Region (NIR) on Wednesday, August 6, for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).
This brought the total number of NIR registrants to 53,562 on Day 6, NIR Regional Election Director Lionel Marco Castillano said.
There were 6,015 new registrants in Negros Occidental, 3,210 in Negros Oriental, and 399 in Siquijor on Wednesday, he said.
The total registrants on Day 6 were 31,864 in Negros Occidental, 19,703 in Negros Oriental, and 1,595 in Siquijor.
Of the total registrants, 27,552 were females and 26,010 were males, Castillano said.
The 10-day registration period for BSKE voters will end on Sunday, August 10.*
