CHO to get P6M to upgrade facility

The Bacolod City Health Office is expected to receive P6 million from the Department of Health for the completion/upgrade of its facility.

The proposed memorandum of agreement between the city of Bacolod and the Department of Health-Western Visayas Center for Health Development represented by its director, Adriano Suba-an, for the transfer of P6 million for the completion/upgrading of CHO and the request for authority for Mayor Alfredo Benitez to sign the same was tackled during the Sangguniang Panlungsod regular session Wednesday, September 21.

Councilor Al Victor Espino, chair of SP committees on laws, ordinances and good government, health and sanitation, accepted the proposal.

The funding for the completion of the CHO will enhance the city’s ability to provide basic services.

As part of the MOA, the city of Bacolod must ensure that the schematic plan for the infrastructure project complies with the existing DOH standards for licensing and accreditation and secure a permit to construct, as well as ensure that the health facility shall be functional within three months after the completion of the project and should be utilized according to its purpose.*
