The City Health Office has identified three Bacolod barangays as dengue hotspots.
Mansilingan, Taculing and Brgy 12 were identified as hotspots. Hotspots are areas with increasing number of dengue cases for four consecutive weeks or deaths, the CHO said in a report released Sunday, September 25.
The CHO said as of September 10, or morbidity week 36, Bacolod City had 755 dengue cases and 10 deaths. The latest fatality was a 6-year-old girl from Barangay 12.
The figure is 226.9 percent higher than the cases last year, which were 234 with three deaths, the CHO report said.
The Bacolod barangays with the highest number of dengue cases are Mansilingan- 101, Taculing – 61, Estefania – 55, Tangub – 52, Villamonte – 47, Singcang – 45, Alijis – 44, Sum ag – 38, Cabug – 38, Mandalagan – 36, Handumanan – 31, Bata – 28, Granada – 24, Banago – 19 and Vista Alegre- 18, the CHO said.*
