
In recognition of its outstanding performance and contributions to intellectual property development and innovation initiatives, Carlos Hilado Memorial State University (CHMSU) was awarded the Platinum Cluster Award by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) during the ITSO Summit 2026 in Iloilo City.
The Platinum Cluster Award is given to Innovation and Technology Support Offices (ITSOs) in after fulfilling the requirements by filing at least 10 patent applications, demonstrating commitment to innovation and securing its intellectual assets, a press release from CHMSU said Monday, Marcg 30 .
CHMSU was represented by Intellectual Property Management Office Director Armando Reosura, College of Industrial Technology Dean Angelie Lopez, and IPMO staff La Riena Sierro and April Rose Galeno during the awarding rites on March 25.
Director Reorura expressed his sincere appreciation to the IPOPHL and the Region VI facilitators for successfully organizing the event and continuously supporting ITSOs across the country.
The summit also provided a valuable platform for engagement and collaboration among intellectual property practitioners and advocates, further strengthening institutional networks and knowledge exchange, the press release said. This recognition reinforces CHMSU’s commitment to advancing intellectual property protection, innovation development, and commercialization efforts aligned with national and institutional, it added.*
