The board of the Central Negros Electric Cooperative is proposing to amend the utility firm’s articles of incorporation and by-laws.
This will be tackled during its 43rd Annual General Membership Assembly (AGMA) on September 26.
The proposed amendment, a copy of which was released by Ceneco Thursday, September 16, included the membership requirements, fee, and rights of the members.
Also highlighted in the proposal were the duties and functions of the members of the board of directors, who were recommended to set the overall goals and objectives of the cooperative with the National Electrification Administration’s program thrusts and directions.
The proposed amendments also stressed that no person should be elected as a director unless he or she has met all the qualifications and requirements set by NEA.
Also included in the proposal is that the cooperative should have not less than five districts and not exceed 15. It proposed to have nine cooperative districts.
Currently, it has seven.
It also stressed that the rates for distribution, supply and metering and the reinvestment fund for sustainable capital expenditures billed by the cooperative for electric energy must be approved by Energy Regulatory Commission.
Meanwhile, the newly-elected members of the board will be inducted during the general assembly by Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles. *
