Cebu Pacific is increasing its domestic flights to and from the Bacolod-Silay Airport, and resuming its flights to Singapore and Hong Kong from the Iloilo International Airport.
Hopefully in the next few years or months they will also be able to launch international flights from the Bacolod-Silay Airport, Erwin Colcol, CEB corporate communications manager, said at a press conference in Bacolod City on Friday, August 30.
Meanwhile, their 42 weekly Bacolod-Manila-Bacolod flights in September will increase to 47 in October and November, he said.
The 14 weekly Bacolod-Cebu-Bacolod flights in September will also increase to 28 in October and November.
The three weekly Bacolod-Davao- Bacolod flights in September will be five in October and November, he added.
To further promote domestic travel, CEB has an ongoing seat sale until Saturday, Aug. 31, wherein passengers may book their flights to select domestic destinations for as low as P199 one-way base fare, exclusive of fees and surcharges, Colcol said.
The travel period for the P199 flights will be until Jan. 31.
Colcol also announced that CEB is resuming its direct flights from Iloilo to Hong Kong and Singapore.
Starting Oct. 27 CEB will operate flights from lloilo to Hong Kong four times weekly, every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Iloilo to Singapore flights will commence on Nov. 25, and operate three times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
CEBs aircrafts will increase by 18 this year, with 10 having already been delivered.
Among them are Airbus NEOs, the latest-generation aircraft that burn 15 percent less fuel per flight and produce less noise compared to the previous generation, Colcol said.
The reduction in fuel consumption leads to a corresponding reduction in aircraft carbon emissions, he said.
CEB and Airbus have also signed a memorandum of agreement for 152 more aircrafts to be delivered starting 2029, he said.
They are investing in more aircrafts because more Filipinos now have the capacity to travel, he said.
“We believe in the future of the Philippine economy and we know more Filipinos will be able to travel,” he added.*
