
The police arrested a 26-year-old cashier for allegedly failing to remit nearly P1.9 million in sales at a fruit store in Brgy. 3, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, on Thursday, Dec. 18.
The Kabankalan City Police Station said the alleged theft happened at Rivson Fruit World Corporation along Bonifacio Street, Brgy. 3.
Police records said the incident came to light after the company’s accountant noticed a large discrepancy between recorded sales and actual bank deposits.
The corporate president and the company’s general manager conducted an on-site inventory, audit, and verification, which revealed that a total of P1,896,005 in sales had allegedly not been deposited.
The suspect, identified as a 26-year-old female cashier and resident of Himamaylan City, was positively identified by company officials.
The suspect is currently detained at the Kabankalan City Police Station.*
