Capitol won’t tolerate employees soliciting funds for services: Diaz

Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said the provincial government will not tolerate employees accepting bribes or soliciting payments to expedite government services.

Diaz gave this assurance Sunday, July 6, following a complaint against three Provincial Veterinary Office employees. They are accused of accepting payments in exchange for speeding up the release of permits.

He stated that while the provincial government won’t tolerate such practices, due process will be provided to those named in the complaint.

Show-cause orders will be served to the three on Monday, giving them a chance to explain their sides, Diaz said.

The complaint against the three Provincial Veterinary Office employees alleges they have been demanding payments for the release of permits, particularly the Recognition of Active Surveillance on African Swine Fever (RAS-ASF).

“This behavior is unethical, illegal, and undermines the integrity of the Provincial Veterinary Office,” the complaint stated.*
