
Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson has signed the contracts for the modernization of the radiology departments in five province-run hospitals, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said on Friday, Feb. 13.
“Work will commence immediately”, Diaz said.
Digital Medical X-Ray Radiography Systems will be installed and operated at the Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City, Valladolid District Hospital in Valladolid, Don Salvador Benedicto Memorial District Hospital in La Carlota City, Valeriano M. Gatuslao Memorial Hospital in Himamaylan City and the Merceditas Montilla District Hospital in Sipalay City.
An AnKe CT Scan 64 Slice with cardiac function will also be installed in Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital, he added.
This system will provide more organized and accessible images, further supporting the governor’s initiative to improve health care services and modernize provincial medical facilities, Diaz said.
The governor has also increased the subsidy of participating local governments in the Panaad sa Negros Festival from P400,000 to P500,000, Diaz said.
PRE-VALENTINE’S DAY EVENT
Lacson led a pre-Valentine’s Day event at the Capitol Park and Lagoon in Bacolod City on Friday.
The event brought together parkgoers, visitors, and Capitol employees for an afternoon filled with fun games, exciting prizes, and surprises.
Two lucky women won the surprise money bouquet prizes, while two parkgoers took home the grand cash prizes worth ₱10,000 and ₱5,000.
Other participants received flower bouquets, chocolate bouquets, stuffed toys, overnight stay vouchers, dinner-for-two treats, movie date passes, and more.
The Provincial Technology and Livelihood Development Center also served free snacks for all.
