Capitol renews contracts of 2,839; five key posts open to applicants

The Negros Occidental provincial government has renewed the contracts of 2,839 contractual workers for 2026, while five vacant key posts are now open to applicants, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz II said on Wednesday, Jan. 7.

Diaz said the contracts of 668 casual, 1,076 contract of service, and 1,095 job order workers have been renewed for 2026.

The renewal of contracts takes place in the first week of the year as part of the organization’s set-up, he said.

Meanwhile, the positions for head of the Provincial Accounting Office, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO), Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, and Provincial Human Resource Management Office (HRMO), as well as the assistant department head of the Negros Occidental Language and Information Technology Center (NOLITC), are now open to applicants.

Diaz explained that the provincial accountant retired, leaving the position vacant.

The PDRRMO was elevated from a division to a department, the NOLITC assistant department head is a newly created position, the provincial agriculturist’s post remains vacant, and the former HRMO head was removed from service, he said.
