The Negros Occidental provincial government will be allocating about P13 million in assistance to the participants of the 29th Panaad sa Negros Festival on March 24 to 30, Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said on Wednesday, Jan. 22.

Each of the participating towns and cities will be provided P400,000 each, the governor said.

The Lin-ay sang Negros contestants will also be given P50,000 each, Lacson said.

Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz informed the tourism officers and representatives of the participating towns and cities of the assistance at a Panaad coordination meeting at the Negros Residences in Bacolod City on Wednesday.

Charina Magallanes-Tan, who is this year’s Panaad sa Negros Festival executive director, earlier said the festival’s non-government organization partner this year will be the Negros Cultural Foundation Inc.

“This year, in partnership with NCFI, we will spotlight Negrense culture and the arts. We are expecting more art and cultural activities to enrich the festival experience and engage festival-goers,” she said.

For entertainment, they are anticipating bigger bands and talents at the 29th Panaad Festival, she said.*
