Capitol not renewing contracts of JOs positive for drugs, others

The contracts of Negros Occidental job order and contract of service workers who tested positive for drugs will not be renewed, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said Wednesday, January 3.

If they tested positive their contracts will not be renewed, no confirmatory tests will be necessary, he said.

Twenty Capitol-based provincial government employees and seven hospital workers tested positive for drugs in December.

Diaz did not say how many of them were JO and COS workers.

There are also JO and COS workers whose contracts will not be renewed based on performance based evaluations and recommendations of their department heads, Diaz said.

A source said the contracts of 30 JOS and COS workers from one division have not been renewed.*
