Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson led the turn over of 75 risograph machines and Knowledge Channel Portable Media Libraries to the 33 school districts under the DepEd – Division of Negros Occidental at rites held at the Negros Occidental High School in Bacolod City, today, February 18.
The risograph machines will be used for the production of printed modules for both elementary and secondary schools, while the media library is a comprehensive educational tool that contains interactive learning programs for teachers and learners, a press release from the Capitol said.
Lacson said that the provincial government is always supportive of the DepEd programs that benefit students, and the project is among the adaptive responses to the needs of alternative learning as the pandemic continues to run its course.
“A year into the pandemic and months of alternative learning, the obligation to protect and promote the right of our learners to quality education at all levels, and to take appropriate steps to make such education accessible to all has become more imperative,” the governor said.
“May this activity motivate our continuous and sustained efforts to think of ways how to further achieve the kind of quality education our learners deserve, for even if COVID physically closed our schools, learning must go on,” he added.
Curriculum Implementation Division Chief Dr. Zaldy Reliquias gave a brief orientation about the project to the beneficiaries.
