Capitol four-day work week to stay as Covid cases rise

The four-day work week for Capitol employees will stay considering that COVID-19 cases are going up again, Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said Tuesday, January 11.

The COVID-19 active cases in Negros Occidental have risen from 170 on January 1 to 332 on Monday, January 10, the Provincial Incident Management Team reported.

Lacson met with provincial government department heads on Tuesday and discussed further measures to assist the typhoon “Odette” victims.

He discussed with the provincial agriculturist and veterinarian how to help farmers who lost their crops and animals.

They are tapping all assistance from the national government to help the farmers, he said.

Livestock raisers need help to get back to normalcy, he said.*
