Cadiz City has the most number of active coronavirus cases in Negros Occidental with 92, the Provincial Health Office reported Thursday, November 19.
However, Cadiz City Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr. and City Health Officer Ma. Victoria Ibañez were quick to deny the PHO data, as they stressed that the locality only has 54 confirmed cases as of tonight, November 19.
This was the second time Cadiz City was ranked by PHO with the most number of active cases among the 31 localities in the province.
Ibañez said that the local Inter-Agency Task Force has 258 persons under monitoring, 20 of whom are at the St. Andrew’s Park Place isolation facility, 22 at the quarantine center in E. B. Magalona and 21 are under home quarantine.
Cadiz logged four new confirmed cases.
On November 5, the PHO also reported that that Cadiz had 150 active cases, which contradicted the CHO data with 99.
When the PHO data was corrected, San Carlos turned out with the most number of active cases at 130 during the first week of November.
Salvador Benedicto and Moises Padilla were COVID-free as of Wednesday, November 18.
Meanwhile, next to Cadiz, the PHO reported that San Carlos City has 87 active cases, followed by Sagay with 48, Victorias – 42, Kabankalan – 40, Hinigaran – 39, La Carlota – 34, Himamaylan – 31; Silay – 28, Bago- 26, Binalbagan -25, Talisay – 21, Toboso -18, Isabela -17, Calatrava – 11, Murcia -10, La Castellana – 8, Manapla – 5, Sipalay – 5, Candoni -3, Pontevedra -3, Ilog -2, Pulupandan -2, and Cauayan, Escalante, Hinoba-an, San Enrique and Valladolid – 1 each.*
