Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said on Wednesday, March 12, that he has directed the reactivation of the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office tankers delivery of water to barangays experiencing supply shortages.
A drop in water supply has been reported in some areas in Bacolod, he said.
Benitez said normally BACIWA-PrimeWater has supply of 84 Million Liters Per Day but he was informed that it has dropped to 79 MLD.
The public is advised to prepare for a reduction in water supply as Bacolod enters the hot summer months, a Bacolod City government advisory said.
BACIWA-PrimeWater has reported a shortage in water delivery from its bulk water suppliers, compounded by ongoing efforts to address illegal connections, which contribute to non-revenue water losses, the advisory added.*
