Pambansang Pabahay Para Sa Pilipino (4PH) Program housing units were awarded to the first 64 beneficiaries of Building 1 at the Asenso Yuhum Residences in Barangay Vista Alegre, Bacolod City, on Saturday, Jan. 26.
Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez and Jacqueline Constantino, Pag-IBIG Fund Institutional Housing Department and Countryside Housing Initiative Department manager, led the turnover of the symbolic key at the project’s clubhouse.
“We are turning dreams into reality as we turnover the Asenso Yuhum Housing Units to our deserving beneficiaries — a step closer to a Bacolod where every family has a place to call home,” Benitez said.
Bacolod was the first local government unit to sign an agreement with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development in 2023 to implement the 4PH and the first to turnover of housing units in the country, he said.
Housing units for Building 1 are being turned over and those in three other buildings in the area will be ready soon, Benitez said.
“Now that we have proven that we have takeouts, we can encourage developers to fast track the construction of more 4PH” housing buildings, he said.
Recipients of the 24-square-meter housing units will pay P2,194.84 a month under the graduated amortization scheme, with a maximum repayment term of 30 years.
Benitez said that is a government subsidized rate as the regular rate would be P6,500.
Other areas identified for the construction of 4PH housing buildings are barangays Taculing, Banago. Estefania and Mandalagan, Benitez said.
There are 296 buyer-beneficiaries whose applications for 4PH housing units in Bacolod have already been approved by the Pag-IBIG Fund.
The recipients of the housing units are those who rent and have no homes of their own, Benitez said.*
