
Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson led the distribution of financial assistance worth P8.8 million to 31 Negros Occidental barangays for more development projects on Wednesday, February 9.
Nine farmer-associations – Camicaba Irrigators’ Association Inc., Manafa Irrigators’ Association Inc., Atipuluan Main Canal Farmers Irrigators’ Association Inc., Sakdag Irrigators’ Association Inc., San Juan Del Monte Irrigators’ Association, Guinbunakan Irrigators’ Association Inc., Fermina Small Water Impounding System Association, Alianza – Rufina Farmers Association, and Barangay Napoles Farmers Association, also received plastic chairs and water pump projects, a press release from the Capitol said.
The ceremonial turn over of the projects was held at the Capitol Grounds in the presence of Board Members Andrew Montelibano and Pal Guanzon, punong barangays and authorized representatives.
The recipient barangays were Brgy. Buenavista, Escalante City; Brgys. Punta Mesa and Santa Teresa, Manapla; Brgy. Campo Himoga-an, Sagay City; Brgy. Rizal, Silay City; Brgy. 20, Victorias City; Brgys. Alegria, Damsite, Canlandog, Zone II, and San Miguel, all of Murcia; Brgys. Mabini, Lacaron, Pacol, and Palaka, all of Valladolid; Brgy. Miranda, Pontevedra; Brgys. Naunga, Pilar, and Himaya, Hinigaran; Brgy. Mansalanao, La Castellana; Brgys. Libas and 5 Poblacion, Isabela; Brgys. III, Tampalon, and Camugao, Kabankalan City; Brgy. Caliling, Cauayan; Brgy. 3, Sipalay City; and Brgys. II Poblacion, Canlamay, I Poblacion, and Canlubang, all of the Municipality of Ilog.
Among the projects to be implemented are road concreting, installation of solar street lights, acquisition of multi-purpose vehicle, construction of elevated water tank, rehabilitation of multi-purpose hall, construction of youth center, and construction of drainage canal, among others.*
