Vice Mayor Abelardo D. Bantug III who is running for mayor of Victorias City announced on Monday, Sept. 30, that his running mate will be incumbent Councilor Francis Frederick Palanca .
Bantug, who is running in place of incumbent Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez who has opted to run for Negros Occidental 3rd District representative, vowed to continue his projects.
“There are still many projects under Mayor Javi that need to be implemented and we will continue it”, Bantug said, adding “As we go along, there will be programs that will be introduced but we will prioritize first Mayor Javi’s projects”.
Palanca, Bantug’s runningmate, is the son of former Victorias Mayor Francis Frederick Palanca.
Former Mayor Palanca may run for governor of Negros Occidental under the PDP Laban but Bantug said that their slate will support the Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson-Jose Benito Alonso tandem for the top posts of the province.
The Bantug-Palanca tandem will be joined by Incumbent city councilors Dino Acuña, Danilo De Asis Jr., Deilen Tornea-Hofileña, Joji Adorio-Larraga, Hermie Millan, Dexter Senido, and Warlito Undar.
Former Negros Occidental Liga ng Barangay President Juvy Pepello, Vincent Roa, and Richard Cuaycong will also be running as councilors under the Asenso Victorias slate.*
