A Bacolod resident was sentenced to two counts of life imprisonment and ordered to pay fines totaling P900,000 on Friday, June 23.
Judge Raymond Joseph Javier of the Bacolod Regional Trial Court sentenced Jonathan Logronio Estolano to life imprisonment for the sale of shabu to a police poseur buyer and to pay a fine of P500,000.
Estolano was arrested after he sold .225 gram of shabu to a police poseur buyer for P1,000 at Purok Sigay, Barangay 2, Bacolod, on Nov. 24, 2022.
On his arrest 24.701 grams of shabu were seized from him, court records showed.
Estolano was also sentenced to life imprisonment for possession of the 24.701 grams of shabu and to pay a fine of P400,000.
The jail warden of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Male Dormitory in Barangay Singcang-Airport Bacolod was ordered to immediately transfer Estolano to the National Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City.
The judge also ordered the turnover of the confiscated drugs to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 6 for destruction.*
