Bacolod’s vaccination drive resumed at the different malls and barangays Monday, January 3, Dr. Edwin Miraflor, Jr., officer-in-charge of the City Health Office, said in a press release.

The schedule ran from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for mall-based inoculation, he said, adding that the SM City drive will begin on Saturday, while vaccination at Ayala Malls Capitol Central will still be ongoing even on a Sunday.

The city’s vax-i buses, or the mobile vaccination clinic, will again hit the road starting next week, Miraflor disclosed.

Miraflor said 105 percent of Bacolod’s target population had received first dose COVID-19 vaccines, while 94.5 percent are already fully-vaccinated.

The city government is reserving its Pfizer and Moderna vaccines for the 12-17 pediatric population, he said.

He also clarified that they are still waiting for the official announcement on when they can start inoculating those in the 5 to 11 age group.

He also reiterated that the Department of Health had already shortened the vaccination interval schedule for vaccinees who wish to get their second dose and booster shots.

Those who received the single shot Johnson and Johnson vaccine may get their booster after two months.

Residents vaccinated with other brands for their first and second doses, may get their booster shots after three months, instead of six months.

Those inoculated with AstraZeneca for their first dose may get their second shot four weeks later, instead of waiting for 8 to 12 weeks, Miraflor explained.
