Bacolod turns over P.5M in assistance to 2 groups

Mayor Evelio Leonardia turns over two checks totaling P550,000 to two organizations as financial assistance from the Bacolod City government, through the Department of Social Services and Development (DSSD), at rites at the Bacolod City Government Center Monday, March 1.

The Negros Occidental Rehabilitation Foundation Inc. (NORFI) received P300,000, while Kalipay Negrense Foundation Inc. received P250,000, a press release from the Bacolod Public Information Office said today.

NORFI was represented by its assistant administrator Khrys Anne Bicar and physical therapist Johnnar Dequilla.

Kalipay was represented by its communications manager Erika Grace Velasco and development officer Swenly Sotelo.

NORFI, with office on Cottage Road in Barangay 9, is a non-stock, non-profit organization formed in 1982 to lead in providing integrated and comprehensive rehabilitative care and services to all persons with disabilities.

Kalipay Negrense, located on Ylac Avenue in Barangay Villamonte, aims to help disadvantaged children – the homeless, abandoned, neglected, malnourished, physically and sexually abused, victims of child labor and trafficking, and foundlings.*
