The Bacolod City government is offering daily health services for vendors and consumers in three major public markets.

The free health check is under the G-Cares or Government Cares component.

Starting at 6 a.m., personnel of the City Health Office and the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office are on duty to provide first aid, blood pressure monitoring, and oxygen level checks.

Vendors and consumers at Burgos (North) Market, Central Market and Libertad (South) Market have already benefited from the health services since the last week of July.

“The trained first aid personnel of G-Cares are available as early as 6 a.m. and stay on duty throughout the day,” City Administrator Mark Mayo said in a statement on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the Gabay Timbangan (weight guide) program promotes fair trade practices with calibrated and regularly inspected weighing scales, adhering to the national “Timbangan ng Bayan” initiative led by the Department of Trade and Industry.

Mayor Greg Gasataya also ordered the conduct of regular flushing and cleaning operations in the three markets.
“Together, let us continue working and committing ourselves toward raising the standards of our public spaces,” he said.*PNA
