Police arrested three drug suspects and a man who allegedly broke into a residence while armed with a handgun in separate operations in Bacolod City, Wednesday night, Sept. 9.
The Bacolod City Police Office reported that two anti-drug operations yielded about 12 grams of suspected shabu with a combined estimated standard drug price of P85,000.
At around 9:12 p.m., personnel of Police Station 3 and the City Intelligence Unit conducted a buy-bust operation in Purok Mahimulaton, Brgy. Banago.
Two 20-year-old men of Brgy. Banago were arrested while about five grams of suspected shabu valued at P37,400 were recovered.
About an hour later, personnel of Police Station 4 conducted another buy-bust operation in Purok Cabachawan, Brgy. Villamonte.
A 26-year-old man from Brgy. 18 was arrested, with police recovering about seven grams of suspected shabu valued at P47,600, along with the buy-bust money.
In a separate incident at around 11 p.m., personnel of Police Station 8 responded to a reported residential robbery in Brgy. Singcang-Airport.
Police said a 50-year-old homeowner discovered an intruder who had allegedly forcibly entered the residence.
When confronted, the 27-year-old suspect, a resident of Brgy. Banago, allegedly attempted to escape by jumping over a hollow-block fence.
Responding officers cornered and arrested him after a brief struggle, police said.
Authorities also recovered a .22-caliber revolver from the suspect.
The three drug suspects are facing charges for alleged violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The robbery suspect, meanwhile, is facing a robbery complaint and an additional charge for alleged violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
All four suspects remain under police custody pending the filing of appropriate charges before the City Prosecutor’s Office.*
