Bacolod bettor wins half of P8.9M Mega Lotto jackpot

Two bettors from Metro Manila and Negros Occidental province will split the P8.9 million jackpot of Monday night’s Mega Lotto 6/45 draw.

In an advisory Tuesday, March 26,  the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) said the winning combination 39-11-29-01-09-19 carried a total jackpot prize of P8.91 million.

The tickets were purchased at Parohinog, Aurelio San Juan St., Bacolod,  and Lucky Circle Corporation Puregold Cubao, Aurora Blvd., Quezon City.

Winners have one year from the date of the draw to claim the prize, as specified in Republic Act 1169, the law on PCSO lotteries.

All jackpot prizes must be claimed at the PCSO main office in Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City. Lotto winnings of more than P10,000 are subject to 20 percent tax under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law.

Meanwhile, 88 others won P32,000 each for guessing five of the six winning digits; 2,257 will get P1,000 each for four correct digits; and 26,610 will settle for P30 each for three correct digits.

The 6/45 Mega Lotto is drawn every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

PCSO general manager Melquiades Robles urged the public to support the agency’s gaming products to raise additional revenue for health initiatives, medical services, and other national charities.

Through its mandatory contributions, the PCSO not only helps individuals in need of medical assistance but also provides funds to government institutions.

HOLY WEEK SCHEDULE

Meanwhile, the PCSO announced the temporary suspension of lotto draws from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday, in observance of the Holy Week.

The PCSO said regular lotto draws will continue as scheduled from Holy Monday to Holy Wednesday, maintaining the usual selling period while the 24-hour continuous selling for e-lotto will remain operational during this time.

The state lottery agency will resume its lotto draws on April 1.*PNA
