Three former members of the New People’s Army (NPA) operating in Northern Negros voluntarily surrendered to the 303RD Infantry Brigade commander Tuesday, September 28, an Army press release said Wednesday.
The surrenderees were identified as alias Rocky/Dan/Adam/Harim, team leader and finance and logistic officer; alias Baliling/Mia/Irish/Dyan/Jelly, political guide and member of the education staff, and her husband, alias Jamil/Prince/John, squad leader, all of the dismantled NPA Northern Negros Front.
They presented themselves to the authorities citing among others the hardships in the mountains; loss of confidence to their “cause” and betrayal of their group, the press release said.
The surrenderees were presented to Maj. Gen. Benedict Arevalo, 3rd Infantry Division commander and Brig. Gen. Inocencio Pasaporte, 303rd Brigade commander, at the 303rd Infantry Brigade headquarters in Barangay Minoyan, Murcia, Negros Occidental.*
