The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) in cooperation with the office of Rep. Francisco “Kiko” Benitez (Neg. Occ., 3rd District) , will bring “Sayaw Tanan!”, the Alice Reyes Dance Philippines (ARDP) 2023 Visayan Tour, to the cities of Bacolod and Victorias on July 8 and 9.
Featuring the best of ARDP and the CCPs Professional Artist Support Program, the ARDP Dance Workshop will be held at the Victorias City Coliseum at 3 p.m. July 8. The ARDP performance, “Sayaw Tanan”, at the University of St. La Salle Coliseum in Bacolod City will be at 5 p.m. July 9, a press release from the congressman’s office said.
Both events are for free. The Victorias Dance Workshop requires pre-registration and those interested may contact Trisha Romero 09185549232, the press release said.
National Artist for Dance Alice Reyes, ARDP’s artistic consultant, leads the Filipino dance company’s objective of focusing on dance education by bringing the gift of dance all over the country and fostering the creation of Filipino choreography with local culture, it said.
Sayaw Tanan is a celebration of the best of Filipino talents and this year’s Visayan tour will include Himamaylan, Negros Occidental on July 3-5; Dumaguete, Negros Oriental on July 6-7; Bacolod and Victorias Cities, Negros Occidental on July 8-9; and Ormoc, Leyte on July 10-11.
To date, ARDP has conducted more than 2,500 classes and created more than 40 extension educational materials on dance covering classical ballet, modern and contemporary dance, jazz and hip hop.
Rep. Benitez who champions the promotion of creative industries and local cultural heritage, is working closely with the offices of Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo “Albee” Benitez, Victorias Mayor Javier Miguel “Javi” Benitez, the Negros Cultural Foundation led by Lyn Gamboa, University of St. La Salle and the USLS Artists’ HUB for the Sayaw Tanan – ARDP 2023 Visayan Tour, the press release said.*
