The alleged abduction of a Bago City resident was caught on video when he was waylaid at Brgy. Abuanan on Tuesday, January 18.
It was seen on the video that the victim, identified as 32-year-old Johnson Ciervo Garfil of La Carlota City, was forcibly taken to a Toyota Avanza by two suspects whose faces were covered with a helmet.
The victim’s belongings and motorcycle were left at the scene.
Lt. Col. Joem Malong, Bago City police head, said the video of the abduction is a breakthrough in their investigation.
She said it would help them identify the vehicle used for the abduction, and that the markings from the suspects’ motorcycles will also aid their investigation.
One of the motives they are looking at was that the victim was facing a rape case and that the hearing is ongoing.
Right now, the police are tracking the suspects by checking all the closed-circuit television cameras in the area.*
