At least 90 impounded dogs in San Carlos City desperately need help as they are scheduled to be put down soon.
San Carlos Animal Rescuers and Adopters (SCARA), a local animal rescue group, is running out of time as its members continue to raise money to pay for adoption fees at the city pound, which is P500 for each dog.
Kirby Secong, one of the group’s founders, said: “all of the 90 dogs will be lined-up for death row and executed soon. For each dog, we need to pay P500 to the city pound just to save them from euthanasia and get them out of the pound.”
They are calling on the city officials to reduce the fee, which they cannot afford, he said. The adoption fee in Bacolod City is only P150, Secong pointed out.
They have not been allowed to enter the San Carlos City pound for almost a month now to visit and feed the dogs, who are skin and bones and in need of help, he added.
They need to secure a pass before they can enter the pound to feed the dogs, Secong claimed.*
