62nd Infantry Battalion has new commander

The new commander of Army’s 62nd Infantry (Unifier) Battalion was installed at rites at Brgy Libas, Isabela, Negros Occidental, on Wednesday, February 16.

Lt. Col. William Pesase Jr took over the command from Lt. Col. Melvin Flores, a press release from the Army said Thursday.

Pesase previously served as assistant chief of staff for personnel of the 3rd Infantry (Spearhead) Division at Camp General Macario B. Peralta Jr. in Jamindan, Capiz.

Flores, who served the 62IB in Central Negros for almost 2 years, will be reassigned to higher headquarters.

Maj. Gen. Benedict Arevalo – 3rd Infantry (Spearhead) Division commander, presided over the turnover ceremony also witnessed by Brig. Gen. Inocencio Pasaporte – 303rd Infantry (Brown Eagle) Brigade commander, PCol.Leo Pamittan – Police Provincial Director, Isabela Mayor Irene C. Montilla and La Castellana Mayor Rhummyla Nicor-Mangilimutan.*
