3 NegOcc LGUs nat’l awardees for best Anti-Drug Abuse Councils

Three Negros Occidental local government units are national award recipients for having the best Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (ADACs), the Department of the Interior and Local Government announced on Friday, Nov. 8.

Cited for their outstanding performance are Victorias City, Silay City and Moises Padilla, the DILG said.

“The award was based on the councils’ compliance with functionality indicators and their successful implementation of anti-illegal drug initiatives and interventions during the prescribed year,” the DILG said.

“Thank you for being the beacon of light in the battle against illegal drugs and may you continue to be an inspiration in building and sustaining a safer and drug-free Philippines”, the DILG Negros Occidental said in its congratulatory message.

Negros Occidental LGUs also had impressive performance audit scores for their ADACs, the DILG said.

Rated as having high functional ADACs were the Negros Occidental provincial government, and the cities of Bago, Cadiz, Escalante, La Carlota, Sagay, Himamaylan, San Carlos, Silay, Victorias, Sipalay and Talisay.

The municipalities with high functional ADACs are Moises Padilla, Pulupandan, Manapla, Pontevedra, La Castellana, EB Magalona, Binalbagan, Toboso, Salvador Benedicto, Valladolid, Isabela, Ilog, San Enrique, Cauayan, Hinigaran and Hinoba-an.

The LGUs with moderate functional ADACs are Candoni, Murcia, Calatrava and Kabankalan City, the DILG said.*
