The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) found no illegal drugs, and all individuals tested negative for drug use, during three separate search and seizure operations conducted last week in jails across Negros Island.
A total of 259 individuals were tested during coordinated inspections at the Vallehermoso Municipal Jail, Canlaon City Jail, and Cadiz City Jail.
The first operation was carried out at the Vallehermoso Municipal Jail in Barangay Poblacion, Vallehermoso, Negros Oriental on Nov. 26.
Fifteen BJMP personnel and twenty persons deprived of liberty underwent drug testing, and all yielded negative results.
A second operation on the same day at the Canlaon City Jail in Barangay Mabigo, Canlaon City, covered 141 individuals composed of jail personnel and PDLs.
All personnel and PDLs also tested negative, and no contraband was found inside the facility.
The third operation took place at the Cadiz City Jail in Barangay Tinampaan, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, on Nov. 27.
Thirty-seven BJMP personnel and forty-six PDLs were tested, and all results returned negative.
The operations form part of BJMP’s continuing anti-drug campaign under “Oplan Linis Piitan” and PDEA’s efforts to ensure jails remain free from illegal drug activities.*
