
The dead from Typhoon “Tino” in Negros Island hit 70 on Friday, Nov. 7, and the search for those still missing is ongoing.
There were 66 persons still missing – 55 in Negros Occidental and 11 in Canlaon City, Negros Oriental.
In Negros Occidental the dead were in Bago City – 8, La Castellana – 10, Murcia – 2, San Carlos City -3, La Carlota City – 3, Hinigaran -8, Isabela -1, Moises Padilla – 12, Pontevedra – 1, Binalbagan -4 and Himamaylan -1, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) reported Friday.
The missing were in Bago City -5, La Castellana – 18, San Carlos – 2, La Carlota City – 11, Hinigaran – 2, Isabela – 6 and Moises Padilla – 11.
In Negros Oriental the dead in Canlaon City rose to 16 with 11 missing. There was one death also reported in Vallehermoso.
Meanwhile, Rep. Javier Miguel Benitez (Neg. Occ., 3rd District) said two bodies earlier found in Murcia were claimed Thursday night by their family from Barangay Quezon, San Carlos City.
To clarify, they are not residents of Murcia, he said
There are zero reported casualties in the 3rd District of Negros Occidental, he said.*
