An additional 1,999 employees of two business process outsourcing (BPO) companies in Bacolod City received their COVID-19 vaccine jabs during separate on-site vaccination activities held Saturday, September 11, a press release from the Bacolod City Government Center said Monday, September 13.

Of the total number, 1,433 were employees of PanAsiatic Solutions, while the other 566 workers were from Teleperformance, said City Administrator Em Ang, concurrent executive director of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and coordinator of the COVID-19 Vaccination Council (CoVaC).

Mayor Evelio Leonardia, who chairs both the EOC and CoVaC, speaking before PanAsiatic Solutions employees at their on-site vaccination, said,”You know how important vaccines are; most of those who are hospitalized are unvaccinated. Please help us educate and encourage others to get vaccinated, especially your family members.”

Ang said business owners of food establishments near the Bacolod City Government Center and tricycle drivers at the terminal near Lopue’s East were also inoculated Saturday.

The vaccination teams were led by City Health Office officer-in-charge Dr. Edwin Miraflor Jr. and EOC Deputies Medical Dr. Chris Sorongon and Dr. Anna Maria Laarni Pornan.

There were also 1,112 workers of PanAsiatic Solutions who were inoculated on August 14.

On September 4, onsite workplace vaccination was also conducted at ARB Call Facilities where a total of 372 employees were inoculated.*
