Thirteen more barangays in nine local government units in Negros Occidental were declared drug cleared by the Regional Oversight Committee on Friday, June 16, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said.
Victorias City had the most number of new drug cleared areas, which the PDEA identified as barangays 7, 20 and 21.
Barangays Consing and Poblacion I in EB Magalona, Libas and Tinongan in Isabela, Purisima in
Manapla, Nanunga in Hinigaran, To-oy in Himamaylan City, Concepcion in Talisay City, Lag-asan in Bago City, and Linaon in Cauayan were also declared drug cleared.
The clearing of two barangays in EB Magalona brought to 21 of the total 23 barangays in the town that have been declared drug free, Maj. Kenneth Jay Gratones, EBM police chief, said.
With this, the municipality’s accomplishment rate in the drug-clearing program is now 91.30 percent, he added.*
