
No illegal drugs were found during a search at the Bayawan District Jail in Bayawan City, Negros Oriental, and all 111 individuals tested for drug use had negative results on Friday, Sept. 12.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Negros Oriental Provincial Office, subjected 50 jail personnel and 61 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) to the drug tests.
On the same day, the PDEA held a Drug Abuse Prevention and Education (DAPE) lecture for 42 PDLs.
The session tackled the national drug situation, concepts of drug abuse, commonly abused substances, and provisions of Republic Act 9165, as well as workplace drug policies.
PDEA also promoted its advocacy programs, including the Virtual Gallery Museum, Operation: Private Eye, Task Force Drug Courier, “Isumbong Mo sa PDEA”, RPAD, and the MAKABATA Helpline.*
