One person was killed and four others, including a driver, were injured in a van and tricycle collision at Cegasco Street in Purok Busay, Brgy. Cabug, Bacolod City, early Wednesday morning, Oct. 22.
The police said the brown Suzuki APV was driven by Erwin Tajonera, 38, of Brgy. Enclaro, Binalbagan, and the driver of the black Rusi 125 motorcycle was Freddie Musni of Hermilinda Homes in Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City.
Tajonera, traveling west to east, lost control of his van on an under-construction section of the road. The vehicle swerved into the oncoming lane, resulting in a collision with the tricycle, police investigation showed.
The impact left the motorcycle driver and his three passengers injured.
One passenger, identified as Arasili Musni, was declared dead at around 6:02 a.m. at South Bacolod General Hospital.
The other victims, identified as Joel Castro, Josephine Mendoza, and Candelaria Heponia, sustained various injuries.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.*
